Matched volume is not available liquidity

← All guides·By Bet-Mate Editorial Team

A large volume figure makes a market look active, but it answers one question: how much has already been matched in that market? It doesn't tell you how much you can match now at the price shown.

Imagine a 1X2 market with EUR 100,000 matched in total. There may still be only a small amount available at the current best price. The total built up over time and across many prices. The amount available at one price is a different measurement.

Match the volume to the market

On Bet-Mate, VOL 1X2 is the 1X2 market and VOL U/O is the goals market. Don't mix them: a busy match-result market can sit next to a quiet Under/Over market.

Check the currency before comparing amounts.

What volume doesn't show

Matched volume is not the number of people betting. The same person can trade many times, and every matched bet has two sides. The figure alone doesn't show who traded, or why.

Sorting by volume helps you find the most traded markets in your selection. It doesn't rank matches by safety or expected return. To understand a price move, look at its timing and its market, not just one big volume number.
